Georg Heider Exhibition from 8th September till
the 8th October

The great love of the now 72-year-old painter Georg Heider, who has been living in Spain for more than 10 years, is back-glass painting, a rare technique today, which consist in painting on the back of the glass. After a 2-year travel to the world of watercolor painting, he returned to the back glass painting some 1.5 years ago.

Today, he prefers to paint surreal and three-dimensional, trying more and more to exploit the three-dimensionality for surreal purposes. More than ever, he is striving to remove the back-glass painting from its traditional encrustations, to watercolor's lightness and spontaneity.

Watercolor techniques, subliminals, use of abstractions, "Hundertwasser Ismen" and pervert three-dimensionality are the actual building blocks with which he tries to achieve his goals. And people are always in the focus, people in most different situations, preferably surreal ones, people from reality, novels, songs and dramas, from lovable to malicious.
